Spring cleaning
Posted by traindaddy1 on Friday, May 18, 2018 8:40 PM

Well, it's time for the Traindaddy's crew to do Spring cleaning.

(Wow, once again, so much dust!)

Our O27 layout is dedicated to (yes) Plasticville. So many pieces, most of which are not glued to the layout.

On a whim, we decided to count the pieces (people, telephone poles, automobiles, street signs, lamp posts, hydrants, mail boxes, plastic shrubs, trees etc). Turns out there are hundreds.

Would be interested in knowing how many movable scenic items are on your layout?

As always, many thanks.

Well since my only "permanent" layout is the 4x6 sheet of luan on my bedroom floor, and since it has two distinct themes throughout the year, I'd say all of them!  Big Smile  Except the track.  That stays put.  Big Smile

Trains, trains, wonderful trains.  The more you get, the more you toot!  Big Smile

Gosh, everything on my layout is movable - including the track. It's on a 24 x 14 covered raised crawlspace where I put down 4x8 foam boards and indoor/outdoor carpet on top of that. Every few years, I seem to change the track plan and theme. Of just buildings, figures, vehicles - I would guess two hundred or so...

Without counting, just going off my Excel spread sheet with over 800-line items.

DieCast Equipment  & Scale Accessories   44

Loose Landscape Material, Buildings and Figures and Figure sets  92

Train Accessories  50

The rest are trains, transformers, track and switches.

I think I have a problem.  Embarrassed
