I'm trying to repair an old 6650 Missile Launcher car. All the parts seem to be there but I cannot get the tab at the top, which should move back and hold in place until the launch button is pressed, to move at all. It seems to be jammed, and I don't know how to disassemble the car to see what's going on. Any thoughts?
Here is an exploded view of the car. Check your car to make sure every part is there, and assembled properly.

There should be a small sheet metal arm (trigger) sticking out from the underside of the black ramp (missle launcher assembly), towards the hinged end. It should have a little piece of stiff wire (wire link)running down to the blue base. Make certain that arm is free to move down towards the base. If it is stuck, you may not be able to pull back the "tab".
The missle launcher assembly is riveted together, and is not meant to come apart.
Thanks for the help, folks. Actually, I was able to disassemble the car by gently bending the wire link to free the trigger and then gently tapping out the cross-rod that holds the firing assembly to the base. I found that the metal rod connecting the firing arm to its spring had gotten out of place. A little gentle maneuvering with some pointed tools corrected the problem, and now the unit is working fine. (Note that the word "gentle" is critical in all this!) Again, thanks for your help.
