As many of you who own this loco, you know that its motor is very noisy. Is it possible to replace it with a flywheel?

No flywheel for those motors. They are easy to service. Remove the brushplate, if you carefully move it straight up you do not have to unsolder it. Clean and lube the armature and gear, it should run pretty good. Remember to add a small amount of lube to the top end of the armature as well.

Yes, the 8020-100 motor is not inherently noisy and responds well to proper servicing.

No...But if the motor is lubed properly it should roll to a stop just like a flywheel would.
