Almost forgot my video from 2014 with the old tree I used to have before I switched to my pre-lit LED tree.
I used to call it my Clark Griswold tree. It was 6-feet tall and had 900 lights. If the temperatures outside were above 40, in that room it could get into the upper 80s.

Oh yes! My bedroom tree has about 75 c-7's (nite lite size) on it and on a cold winter night it makes a great space heater!

I've been told it's a "Tante", a Junkers that I removed the armaments from and turned into a Lufthansa plane.
Milk. It does a body good.
This is what I do with the teeny tiny blue comet 400e that Hallmark put out as an ornament a few years back. I made a mini set box and let some standard gauge sized kid play with it.
That's a Junkers JU-52, called "Tante Ju" by Lufthansa an Luftwaffe pilots who flew it.
Quite a remarkable airplane, kind of a German DC-3. There's still some flying today.

The wildest thing happened this year. I had a simple loop of track with a 2026 pulling three green pullman passenger cars. On Christmas morning my daughter got a note from Santa saying he hopes that her dad wouldnt mind that he played with the train. Pullmans gone and replaced with gondolas filled with mints. Hmm...
I was playing with my new toy today.
First time I've had a lens large enough to get it all in one photo.
The Sony is much better at "twilight" shots than my Fuji ever was.
There's almost depth to the water.
Even in the fountain.

Color saturation effects are better too.
I can mess with the depth of field too.
And I have the megapixels now to use just one tiny segment of a much larger photo without losing much sharpness.
And the zoom from accross the room isn't bad either.
My four year old second cousin was over this past Saturday and he called this the "shark tooth tree". I always thought it was a kite eating tree!
I like riding the Jungle Cruise in the evening.

It's a good thing that we never paid full price for any of the German buildings and even got some of them pre build for very little money!

Lucky guy you! Lufthansa's pet JU-52 was supposed to stop here in Richmond VA on it's US tour around 20 years ago but never made it, it had some engine trouble somewhere.
That's all right, I've seen plenty of other historic aircraft in flight, why be greedy?
And if one JU-52 passing overhead is a blast from the past, how about six of them?

During the removal of the Monorail station, the wiring block snagged the thin 20ga wires of the station's lights and shorted out! The result was a few seconds of hair raising and trying to prevent the carpet from catching as the wires got incinerated. I'll have to test the station next year, it's undamaged (as is the carpet, whew!) but it's only 2 14v bulbs which I'll probably replace to stay on the safe side.More pics to come!
