That market is pretty well locked up by Hot Wheels:
Or if you prefer, there's the "singing" Hallmark version:
Trains, trains, wonderful trains. The more you get, the more you toot!
here's the correct link to it. http://www.factoryent.com/Batman-1966-TV-Series-Batcave-Desktop-Sculpture-p/408958.htm

Maybe it's my fading memory but I do not remember a train in any Batman television episode. Was there a battle with a train in the Dark Knight a few years ago?
Spiderman did duke it out on a retired CTA 2200 L car about 10 years ago. How the CTA extended the loop to NYC is anyones guess. :)
Season 1, episodes 17: True or False Face, and Episode 18: Holy Rat Race had Batman and Robin tied to the tracks of the Gotham City Subway as the cliffhanger between the episodes. But that's about as close to a train as Adam and Burt got.
False Face was played by Malachi Throne but the episode credits say "?????" because since he was always wearing a mask, Throne didn't want screen credit. He's reported to have said "Anybody could have been behind that mask".
There was the 3 level Gotham Monorail in "Batman Begins:

My guess is they just tunneled through the Earth. The branch line would be quite a bit shorter than if it had been overland.......Duh!
btw I love all of the vehicles and Batcave in the Batman movie and series. I'd buy that Batcave except for one small thing.....okay.....one HUGE thing......the price. Otherwise, I would have ordered a batload.
I just looked at the price of that Batcave sculpture and...
"Holy heart attack, Batman!"
Well I'm sure a lot of us could build one of our own for our layouts a lot cheaper than 700 bucks!
WELL I was offered 100.00 dollars off still............................
Did buy the LEGO one saving 50.00
As a boy in the comics Bruce DID have trains to play with
After Mom and Dad left him...........................Certainly enough room in the Batcave for a layout
In 1943 Lewis Wilson's Batman had a desk in his cave:
But in 1949 Robert Lowery had a few more gadgets:
But his nemesis (Darth Vader's grand daddy) had more in his cave:
The villain, "The Wizard" in the 1949 serial Batman and Robin has a device to control machines and in one scene the process is demonstrated using a Lionel locomotive that may be a 700E. But it's a bit hard to identify on my copy.
Here are Commissioner Gordon, Batman, and Robin watching the demonstration.
Here are a few closeups of the trains. The passenger car wasn't shown in its entirety.
What do you think? Is it the 700E?
Definitely a cool piece - but at a premium price - and Batmobile not included? Its hard to even find a 1:43 or 1:50 scale Batmobile (I had a Corgi as a kid but unfortunately lost it during myriad moves).
As an aside, Lionel missed a great opportunity with their Batman subway set and related cars - why not make 1:50 scale figures, too, and include them in the set and for separate sale? Seems a no-brainer. I eventually found a 1:50 scale Batman figure - but its really cheap plastic. Found the die-cast ones at Walmart - - albeit they're on the large size.
phrankenstign What do you think? Is it the 700E?
If it's not it sure is close. The rivets that attach the Baker Valve Gear union link on the crosshead to the combination lever, and the combination lever to the valve rod appear identical to that used (large, shiney, flat head) on the prewar 700E and the 1990 version. I was able to glance at my 1990 version and looked at the photos in Greenburgs for the prewar. The 3 rail prewar version had near scale flanges on all 6 drivers. The loco in the photo appears to have blind center drivers, and obviously converted to 2 rail. Interesting.
Regards, Roy
That Hudson might be a Max Gray model. Gray had quite a business building custom two-rail O scale locomotives back in the old days.
I found episode one on dailymotion: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2xp208 the loco appears at 7:40. Going back and looking at it compared to the size of the other elements in the room, and the fact that it's on 2 rail track, I wonder now if it isn't OO?
The amazing thing is The Wizard created his wireless system in 1949 years---before TMCC and DCS hit the market. It was better, in fact, because it also controlled full-sized trains and trucks too. Rather than use it for his evil ends, he should have patented his device and licensed its use for a hefty price. He could have cleaned up legally!
If that was the model's actual motor sound it could be 700e
