The National Train Show is coming to Orlando next weekend.
Has anyone ever attended this particular show?

Well, sinc no-one else has said anything...
I haven't been to a "National Train Show," they haven't come to this part of the country, but I'll put it this way. If it's a two-day show, and it's within a comfortable driving distance for you, (I'll usually attend a show within a two-hour drive time radius, but no further) then why not go? Probably cheaper than going to the movies and just as entertaining. Besides, you never know what you'll find.

I also posted on the Model Railroaders forum where there were a few responses. It appears that the NMRA is holding a convention here this year and the train show is an added attraction. While not being able to attend the convention (not a member) I'll be going to the show (for better or worse). Hope to see and meet some "Classic Toy" train people.

You know, I've always felt that the term "a good show" is usually subjective, whether it's a train show, camera show, antique show, or gun show. If you find what you're looking for, it's a good show. If not, then I try to be a little broad-minded. If the show's entertaining most times that's good enough for me.

I went to a Virginia Train Collectors show today, one of those one-day, "9 to 3" type shows. About an hour from where I live, and I'm glad I went!
Came home with a 1986 Lionel Jersey Central FM Trainmaster, new in the box for $150, a Weaver "Borden's Milk" billboard car, also new for $45, a paperweight size section of Civil War era "pear shape" rail for $15, and from the "give-away" table two as-new copies of "Trains" magazine, one from 1974, the other from 1977. I'm going to do a little time-traveling the next few days.
The point is, you never know, do you? So, if a train show's coming up, and it's within a reasonable distance, and I've got the money to spend and the time, I'll go. You never know what you'll find.
