Got a question, If I want to use a Lionel 1044 transformer using / sharing the same common as a ZW what is the common on the 1044? Is it the B post with the circuit breaker?? And what post would you connect to the outside rails? The B post also.
Kind of confusing.

The common of the 1044, like its ancestor 1033 and other single-control postwar Lionel transformers, is either A or B, depending on whether you want a voltage range of 5-16 or 0-11, and should be connected to the outside rails. Connect U to the center rail.
I don't understand why Lionel would use such confusingly different conventions for small and large transformers.

Thanks Bob, It don't matter anyhow. I found out the 1044 is not big enough to run all of my accessories and the 8 car postwar set behind the Lionel 2065 Hudson on the new eleveted level. Too many lights and other stuff pulling on it. Think I will just run that train off a LW.
