Last weekend I was by Williamsburg VA and stop in at the Army Transportation Museum at Ft. Eustus. Here are a few pictures of From the museum of Railroad related items.

That boxcar was American made for the European Theater after WW2 due to the shortage of equipment in Europe at the time.

Coming home from work I saw the Ringling Brothers Circus Train the real thing:

May not ever see it again on the rails again

Have fun

Really? That's interesting. I knew locomotives were built for Europe after WW2 but didn't know about boxcars or other rolling stock.  Make sense though.

Fascinating, especially that saddle-tanker I see in the background and that LCVP just in front of it.

I've got to get down there for a look one of these days.

Good catch!  You're right, it may well be your last chance.  Hard to say what the circus will become but I think the probability is low that the trains will be continued.  At least, not from what I read in Trains magazine.

Trains, trains, wonderful trains.  The more you get, the more you toot!  Big Smile

Sturgeon,

Thank you sharing your photos of the circus train. All the times it came to Nashville TN, where I live, I never photographed it once. Now it's gone.
