I modified my e1122 switches but my light on my controls cause a short, as soon as I take the bulb out it works fine. can anyone help me with this. Thanks
Yes, what was the modification?
Rob
Can you be more specific about what you mean by a "short"? Do you mean a fault condition that draws a very high overcurrent? That should not be possible with any connection that can be made among the 3 wires in the controller cable.

The wrong bulb in the controller will make one of the solenoids sing, and if the impedance is way too low, it will throw that switch and the solenoid will hum quite steadily.
I found a mod on utube hooking direct power to the solenoid. It all works good until I put the bulb in. Do I need a different bulb for this? But it does hum and throw the switch and bulb starts to dim after a it throws. If soon what's the bulb number please thanks again
If your controller has a screw socket, try a number 52; if a bayonet socket, numbar 53.
Also added a diode resister and capacitor
I took a GE 53 out to make it work
Can you post a link to the Youtube video? What lamps are you using where, and what are the capacitor, diode, and resistor values and how are they connected? Did you leave the turnout's lantern connected to the track voltage or reconnect it to the new voltage source?
The number 53 is a reasonable choice with a fixed voltage; but you will probably need to rewire the controller to power it from a separate source if you're using a capacitive-discharge circuit (which is nevertheless a good idea).
Yes, the bulb in the 1121c/1122c controller cannot be powered from the switch with the CD circuitry being used, it must be powered separately.
