Thanks for those shots!  Are those steam tractors (and portable engines) cool or what?

I'd love to have one.  Imagine driving one of those things around the block!

If you wrap rubber tire tread over the steel wheels so they don't damage the pavement, they are street legal!  Wink  Dad's 40 HP Case had tread over the steel wheels when we got it, but we removed it since we never took it out on paved roads.  A local friend had a larger Case that did have rubber over the wheels, and on occasion would drive it into town for the 4th of July parade.  And yes, they are a lot of fun.  Dad's engine was sold years ago... and I prefer my steam on flanged wheels, so I doubt that I ever buy one of my own.  - James

my late Uncle Jim was heavey in a local to him antique power club. If the distance was shorter, I would have been involved as well. And just to keep this train related, he left me his Lionel and Marx trains, and the platform I grew up watching at my Grandparents every Christmas.
