The Boy has taken an interest in crane cars recently, undoubtedly inspired by his marathon sessions of watching the new Bob the Builder. I'm thinking about getting a PW Bucyrus for him and was wondering what the group thought was the better car: the 2460 with six-wheel trucks/coil coupler or the 6460 with the four-wheel trucks/magentic coupler. I think there will be a lot of use of the crane so stability is important - but so is him not getting frustrated with coil couplers. Thoughts?

The 2460 is consired somewhat collectable. So I would go with a 6460.
Also there have been many colorful crane cars since the 1970s. You could find one of them that he might like.
These are not playtoys so I would expect he might destory it.

Drat! I see that I just missed the 2016 bratwurst festival, last week in "Beautiful Downtown Bucyrus, Ohio"!
It's just as well. They apparently haven't built cranes there since the company moved out in 1893.
