Diesel Wheel Arrangements
Posted by gottcent on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 5:32 PM

I understand the meaning of the numerical codes used to identify different wheel arrangements on steam locomotives: 0-4-0, 4-6-4, etc. But I do not understand the corresponding alphabetic codes used for diesel wheel arrangements. I see designations such as AA or CC but I have no idea what they mean. Can anyone help?
