Posted by Hotrod on Sunday, February 28, 2016 8:49 AM

Is there a Greenberg Repair and Operating book covering after 1969

for "modern" Lionels? Is there a similar book for Repair/Operation MTH/Williams?

Thanks, Rod

There was a paperback that covered early MPC but I don't know of any after that unless someone published the service manuals. All service stations MPC+ era received regular updates to the manuals.

Yes, The Greenberg volumes from 1970 forward were in print starting in 1987(by Greenberg/Kalmbach) and were known as "supplements". They are now available online in a couple of places - start with supplements 1-9 HERE.

Before Greenberg took over publishing Lionel's service manual for them, Lionel published the manual themselves. As far as I know, they were only available directly from the Lionel parts department. They used red three ring binders. Some binders were imprinted with white lettering. Others came with stickers. There are variations on exactly what was printed.

The last version of the book "Greenberg's Lionel Modern Era diagram and parts book" covering 1977-1992, is long out of print and we will never print it again. Hard to find. I think I have the only copy in the office, though I believe I saw one in the company library.

The supplements, and a version of the 1970-1986 edtion of the book, can be downloaded for free from the Lionel website.
