Grandpa got my son a North Pole bridge - although it came without the 8 sheet metal screws needed to attach the base to the girder sides. Anyone happen to know what the screws in these sorts of bridges are? I'm going to head over to Ace in the next couple of days and will just eyeball it if necessary - I'll then include the info here so others can benefit in the future.

Can not be 100% sure but all the girder bridges appear to use a flathead #2 5/16 screw. part # 620-4274-110. It looks like a coarse thread screw that has been blacked, possibly self tapping. You can see a picture of it on the Lionel site under support, parts.

For posterity, 4 X 3/8" sheet metal screws do the trick. Not sure if this was by design, but at least with the pan head screws I used the heads protrude slightly underneath the metal base plate - so the bridge rests on the screws, not the base plate, which should prevent future scratching/rusting of the base plate.
