O/O27 Gauge Passenger Car Figures
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, November 28, 2004 5:18 PM
Hello to everyone! I need help locating passenger figures to place inside some NYC Streamliner Passenger Car 4-Pack. These cars are 13 1/4" long and I believe are more O/27 scale. I did see some K-Line passenger figures in a seated and standing position. I was wondering if anyone new of any other type of figures available. In addition, what is the best way to attach them to the seats inside the cars. I do not want to glue them in. Is there some material or substance that I could use to hold them in place, but also be able to remove them if I so choose. Thank you for your help.

Hi Noel,

I think the best deal on passenger people is from K-line. They have a pack of 40 people for $25.00, that’s about $64.00 each. They also have a smaller set that has as you describe, people standing and sitting for about $10.00 per set. MTH also has several sets of passenger people, some standing, setting, eating, etc. for about $20.00.

I used glue dots, which is like silicone glue, which is always soft.

These are from the K-line 40 pack.

Hope this helps
tom

Gee, Spankybird, I just purchased these figures this weekend. Do you know how to get them inside the car? I think you just undo the screws on the bottom.

HI Buckeye,

These are MTH cars, so remove the 4 screws from the bottom, the with a twist the top will pull off. Some may need help from a small slotted screwdriver.

Where did you buy the glue dots? I have never heard of glue dots. I have used wax type paste that does not damage anything.

I bought a small tube of silicone at the craft store to secure the K-Line people that I got.
The best price that I found for the 40pc set was at Train Express.[^]

Buckeye, I pick up the glue dots at a craft store. One other use for them is to hold pictures in an album.

This message is for Tom or Spanky Bird. Thank you for your help. I was wondering will the K-Line passenger set with 40 figures fit into the Lionel NYC streamliner cars 6-15180. The vista dome in your picture looks like the same seating size that I have. I called K-Line and they said their figures would not fit into the seats of their (K-Line) streamliner cars. Maybe I did not talk to the right person there. Sometimes the people in the train industry do not know what their talking about. If you can give me any more insight into this I would appreciate it. Could you possibly tell me what make and size are the passenger cars in your pictures. They sure do look great. I know my cars are definitely considered O/27 size. Thanks for your help.
