Historical Perspective....Need Assistance.......Lionel "Super O" Trackage
Posted by lionelsuperotrack on Saturday, November 27, 2004 12:32 PM
One of the fun parts of our hobby, for me, is the "how did that come
about?" or "why did they do that?" portion of toy train collecting.
For example, why did Lionel choose to reproduce the postwar #671
Turbine when the prototype was the only engine ever built? Between
the #671, #2020, #681 and #682 Lionel must produced 100,000 units
(just a guess, I really have no idea)or more. They are all over! Why
did Lionel choose to come up with "Super O" track? How long had they
been working on it? Why did they select 036 diameter? You get the
picture.......

I am searching for historical information about Super O. Do you have or are you aware of an individual who can fill in the many missing pieces? Display layouts? Whys and wherefores? Any help you can provide would be appreciated. You can contact me off list ( hspanier@aol.com ) if that is your preference.

A Great Holiday Season to All,

Season's Best,

Mike

This posting is very hard to read, so I am not going to try to read the rest of it. Can you do it again in black?
