3472 Milk car, trolley
Posted by K2EDW on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 9:20 AM

I purchased a 3472 , milk car . The car appears to be an excellent condition and came with a platform that also looks very good. I need the correct track to operate it. I have done some research and it appears there are several types of activating tracks. I also need the button for the track. I keep finding a two button control with four conductor wire. What is the correct track section and controller ?

I also purchased a trolley that had a pentagram (not sure if that is the correct term), the antenna type thing, basically a short piece of wire that was taped inside the car. My question: how does it attach ?

Thank you

Howdy, A question needing to be answered is what type of track are you using? Fastrack or O-Gauge or O27. Each one has its own remote control track. What I see in the catalog is: Fastrack # 6-12054; O-Gauge # 6-65530; O27 #6-12746.All three come with a 2 button controller; one button for uncoupling and one button for accessory operation. I would think there is a connector on the roof of the trolley begging for something to be mounted to it. A photo would help. 8-) Train on.

To give you quick answer for the trolley, visit Olsens Toy Train parts website and enter into their Library.  Search for "operating cars", and scroll down to the 60 trolley.  There should be a clip that gets inserted into the hole in the top of the trolley, along with the wire (pantograph), to hold it in place.  Olsen's Toy Train website is a wealth of knowledge, if you want to search the "Library section", which is pages and pages of what you would find in a repair manual.

Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a "Repair Manual", whether an old original, or a newer abridged version "K-line Service Manual", so to benefit everyone, Olsen's has it on their website.  You can also find what you need about the 3472 Milk Car.  Only problem would be if you are using a newer type of track.

Good Luck
