Hello everyone...
I am new here, I have a Williams F-3 set and wished that the horn was much louder and deeper tone. The true blast 2 horn was not loud enough because i am hearing impaired. Does anyone know of a replacment after market unit that can be a simple 2 wire hook up ? I really loved my Williams F-3's and its a very smooth engine !!!!! This is my very first post !!!
Thanks everyone
Tiffany
Welcome to the board. I wish I could help, I don't know of a solution.
there should be a small volume potenteometer on the board to adjust the volume. at least the 1st gen of the board had it. it is a small round disc with a screwdriver slot. turning to the right should increase the volume. hope this helps you.
Hello
What about a simple electronic horn that was used in the 1980's lionel diesel ? if have a working one for sale let me know.
It's been a while since I heard that Williams horn, but from what I recall, it was about the loudest horn I had ever heard on a toy train. If there is a potentiometer on the board, perhaps yours is turned down more than mine was.
If you can't find a device to fit in your engine, another possible choice would be a sound system from MRC (wish I could recall the name or model number of it). The one I am thinking of had two external speakers that you would place near the layout and a remote that had buttons for the various sounds it made (horn, bell, prime mover, etc.)
Hope this helps,
