Many of you also read the Trains Newswire. They have had at least two items about NS 911. This is a locomotive with a paint scheme honoring all emergency responders i.e. police, fire, ambulance etc. This is one of the neatest locomotives on the rails and I would really like to see Lionel build a model of it with the Legacy control system, or, at least, the Lion Chief Plus system. I think a lot of people would but one.
On a related note, NS unit #911 will be on display at the Railraod Museum of Pennsylvania the weekend of June 13-14.

Although my primary interest is prewar, I definitely agree with you. Either, or both, would be more than a worthy addition.
Thanks for posting the photos and comment.

Those are some of the fanciest designs I've ever seen on locomotives. I wonder how difficult it would be to reproduce in O scale/gauge. Those would definitely take a while to produce accurately. They are nice, though.
I'm sure if there's enough interest someone will do an O gauge version, if not Lionel then MTH, Williams by Bachman, or Atlas.
All those really interested should contact the above and make your wishes known.
***********UPDATE************
NS 911 is a no-show at Strasburg's PRR museum this weekend. The folks at the museum just found out yesterday afternoon that the unit was "working" elsewhere.
