Spankybird, I think you should start a new topic titled, "Where to buy all the cool stuff for your train." [:D] You always have the best toys!!![:)][:)]

Reminds me of something I saw in the lobby at the Greyhound Lines bus station, in some long forgotten town, back in the sixties!

That is a sweet looking coach!

I grew up in the 60s and 70s and remember these as well as the Trailways Eagle O-1. Corgi does a very nice job! As young adult in the 80s, I drove charter buses for Gray Line in St. Pete, Flordia. They still had MC-7s and the old GMC PD "Buffalo" series coaches which slightly resembles the scenicruiser, but the "roof hump" was just past the front door.

Even though I'm an HO scaler, I have a Corgi O-Scale GMC Tranist "Fishbowl" bus in the "New York Bus Service" scheme. I have it displayed in my living room on the entertainment center. First time visitors always seem to enjoy checking it out.

I hope to get one or two more.

Cheers and HIgh Greens!

Dang, Antonio, if you aren't careful, you're gonna get hooked over here. I should have known I could find you at the "bus stop". [swg]

Thanks for all your support over on MR dealing with Mr Bear, he's a real piece of work, ain't he? If he keeps that up, he will lose all credibility.[;)]

For buses, those are pretty cool Tom. [8D]

Walt – I check out your source of diecast cars, I believe you will be hearing from me. I saw some things I liked. Thanks

Elliot – Buses aren’t my real thing, but these are neat with great detail and very unusual.

Tom, I know that trains are first with you. Antonio is a little more torn as his love for buses runs deeper. You two haven't really met before, but this topic is serving as a nice bridge to bring people in different scales together.[^]

Bt the way, did you guys know that Greyhound was started on the iron range of northern Minnesota?[;)][:D]

Hey guys,

Yep it's true. Growing up in New York, I was exposed to lots and lots of Trains and Buses. I became a fan of both, though trains were first. My first trains were in S scale and later O scale and in during the 1970s in my teen years I went HO.

I like buses very much, especially in the larger scales. The GMC "Fishbowls" are my favorite. From 1960 thru the 80s these buses seemed to be "everywhere" in American cities. They were tough, rugged, and relatively easy to repair. They were frequently used in movies (how many of you saw the movie SPEED? ).

Whenever I attended train shows, I was always drawn to the layouts that featured American towns or citiies, regarless of scale. What used to frustrate me up until a few years ago was that these layouts almost always never had a decent looking post 1955 transit or long distance bus.

I became "estatic" when Corgi introduced the GMC Old Look and New Look "Fishbowl" transit coaches. (The old look was what Ralph Kramden from "The Honeymooners" drove). It's nice to see Toy-Classic or Prototype style layouts with these buses on them.

IMHO these buses, along with the Scenicruisers add that extra "Spark" of the post 1950 American scene! As Jackie Gleason used to say: "How sweet is"..............

Cheers!

Actually Elliot, my 1/43 die cast car collection is most probably as large as my train collection.

Here is part of it

And this is just part of it. And there is all that is on the layouts.

Well then, time for the railroad to step up to the local radio station and newspaper and offer travelers some holiday specials!
