The Future Of Weaver
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, November 1, 2004 3:23 PM
Recently Weaver raised their prices to the dealers by 30%. As a result, their major dealers, such as Justrains of Delaware, Jim Sutter, and Bob Thatcher of AM Hobbies have all dropped the line. I assume others have or will too. Rumor has it that Weaver will now focus on 2 rail O scale and the higher end 3 rail. I'm just wondering if any of you have further information. I can't see anyone paying 30% more for their products, especially the rolling stock. It seems that they're taking another direction.

Its strange to see that our forum gets more members every month, and that the industry is focussing elsewhere..
Of course I'm not one of their customers, since no one tried Europe[^]

If you really want to know the future of Weaver, why not just by-pass the rumors and assumptions and send a message to Joe Hayter of Weaver (www.weavermodels.com). I'm sure he'll be able to answer your questions.
