I'm working on a new layout and have a few city blocks to create. I've decided to make the bulk of the city using Plastic Ville and I may mix in some other plastic buildings. In mapping out the downtown, I estimated the space and will have a two lane street, plus a parking lane, plus a trolley line in the street and a six scale foot (1.5") sidewalk.
I'm either going to use masonite or cork for the streets and would typically use an additional piece of 1/8" masonite on top of the street for a sidewalk. This will equal a six scale inch curb - which is about right. Here's my carboard template:
My friend Andre Garcia (AG) has started making detail parts for O and S Gauge layouts using a laser cutting machine and he is making some standard O Gauge sidewalks.
He can make any length and is making separate round corners. The sidewalks include manhole covers and this set also has a freight elevator. These need to be painted and weathered but here is the first look at them. They can almost de used as is, depending on what you're looking for.
Anyone looking for this type of product or other details like working street lights and brass details - contact Andre - andreemd@gmail.com
Glad to hear you are "back in the business". Good luck and I'm sure it will be grand.
