posting a pic

Afternoon all!

I'm hoping I have this picture posting down pat.  Here's a Williams FM unit I'm thinking of converting to TMCC.

Bruce, I also use Shutterfly so when I post photos I open two windows, CTT & Shutterfly. Open the photo on shutterfly , right click on the photo, open properties then hi-lite the URL and finally right click the URL and copy.

Bruce, Ignore the first paragraph. When you open the photo on Shutterfly right click on the photo and click on "copy" .

On CTT click on reply then when the window opens just right click and on the drop down menu click paste.

All done.

Bruce I find photo bucket easier but I think because thats what I started with but here I copied your pic and here it is

drat!  seems no matter which procedure used I still can't get it.  Doug: I use Shutterfly because that's what was recommended to me from folks here, back when I was a member a few years ago.  I seem to recall that posting photos was super simple then.  Anyhooo...thanks for posting my FM pic guyz.  I'll keep trying.

  It might be a case of your browser.  I use AOL since I have e-mail addresses and such over there but this site and a lot of others apparently are no longer compatible with AOL when it comes to things like posting pictures.  In order to post pictures I have to open up both Shutterfly and whatever other site I'm posting to at the same time in a different browser (I use Firefox) and then do as mentioned above - copy from Shutterfly and past into the body of the post on CTT.

You have to use the raw image url from Shutterfly, not from within a viewer or a viewer page. It would be a much shorter URL and end in "jpg" w/o extensions/modifiers.

Where is "raw image" on Shutterfly? I thought I had it, but the image code did not match your description.

I too have been having problems with picture posting.

It used to be that you opened Shutterfly, then opened CTT, went back to Shutterfly, clicked copy, went back to CTT and clicked past and you were done.  This method ceased to work some time ago and I was told it was because I was on AOL so, as noted in one of the other posts I shifted over to Firefox for posting here and everything worked as before.  

  About two week ago I tried to do this and I found you could not get the copy command over on Shutterfly nor could you get the paste command over here.  If I copied the URL info and chopped off all of the code after the "JPEG" part I could bring the image into CTT but it would only show up as a very tiny image with no detail.

   I tried the same thing with a computer at the library.  I think their browser was IE, and it worked just like it used to - copy from Shutterfly and paste to CTT.  I have no idea what is going on but it is very frustrating.

I currently  use Chrome as my browser and I used to use IE.  Photo are uploaded to Shutterfly and then I use the two windows to cut and past using the right click button on the mouse.  (Left handers be wary of right click.)  

Ten or more years ago, the HP Photo site would not post to CTT either.  

Is there a YouTube video on how to post photos to CTT?
