NICE layout! And, in return, here's some Lionel in two foot gauge:
There is, of course, a story behind this. On Saturday, June 28, myself and other members of the Sugar Creek Model Railroad Club set up some trains for the amusement and edification of the VA's National Veterans' Golden Age Games (http://www.va.gov/opa/speceven/gag/index.asp ) in Fayettevillle, AR...
This was the debut of my shining Marx 666 engines which, despite running on track which could be charitably described as my "bottom of the barrel stuff", performed remarkably well. My whistling station (see http://cs.trains.com/ctt/f/95/t/230529.aspx) also made its debut to much praise.
Anyhow... One of the other exhibitors was a podiatrist's office giving away little foam rubber feet. I had a Lionel 3309 sans satellite launcher knocking about my 'cheap freight cars' bag, and, well, as soon as I saw the little rubber feet, I just HAD to do it!
Incidentally, I'm seriously considering getting a new Lionel 0-6-0 Docksider. We gave the club's Docksider a bit of exercise, and it's a nice mover (and would probably look spiffy sporting a trolley pole!)
All in all, a fun day indeed!
