Here is a small 10 x 10 layout that I am building for a friend. It is in his upstairs bedroom.

A little early morning varnish action for your delectation...
(note to self: Call Olsen Toys about my parts order; that 1688 needs its other marker light!) ;-)

Continuing my project to upgrade the trucks on my Flyer cars. I have moved on from the house cars and this weekend converted three of my four gondolas. This picture is a kind of "before" and after".
One of the unanticipated benefits that I noticed is that the cars now couple closer together.
In fact when I first noted this I was concerned that would cause an issue on 19" R track. But I ran couple cars around my temporary layout and they just miss each other on the tight curves. For my future layout I have provided for 24" R curves at a minimum.
And BTW, when I posted a couple of these shots on Facebook, someone in the AF group accused me of being "one of them HO-style rivet counters".
I have figured out what is wrong with my brain! On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!
As long as they miss, that's all that counts. I've got some tight clearances on my own layout.
Mind you, I've seen an old film of some NYC passenger trains in a yard and it looked like you could barely get a piece of paper between them!
Spankybird, the workmanship is that of a professional. Large layout for a pretty small room. The layout design includes the name of the software provider, but I am unable to read it. Would you mind providing the name and your assessment of its capabilities?
Thanks, Swede
