The wiring information with the MTH 30-11014 crossing signal with sound package does not include information regarding proper power requirement. Should it be DC or AC and what voltage range? Can anyone help? Thanks
No guarantee but seeing its for a O gauge train set that runs on AC power one would come to think it will work fine on AC. it wouldn't make sense to have a aux. item run on DC when everything else runs on AC the engine has electronics in it to convert the AC to DC for the DC Can moters

That is correct it uses AC. It hooks to your accessory post on your transformer. I run mine at about 12V.
I also put a switch on the speaker so I could cut off the bell sound.
