Type A and Q transformer question.
Posted by Jclasshero on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 5:37 PM
I picked up both a type A and a Q transformer recently. I looked in my Greenburgs for info. There is the wiring diagram but no pictures. Did these transformers have red or green lamp caps? And how do I remove the terminal panel? One of the binding post soldering joints popped. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

You can find a picture of both transformers at www.tandem-associates.com.  They both have RED lamp caps, part # r-68.  You can also visit "Olsens Toy Train Parts" website, and scroll to bottom of page and click on "LIBRARY" to search through the transformer section.  It shows diagrams of the internal components of both, which look identical.  It also has a parts list of both transformers.  Hope this helps.
