Santa Fe 2343 Audio board and speaker installation.

Recently purchased an Electric RR F3 diesel sound board to replace the sick horn in my old 2343. The install was fairly easy. I thought the best spot for the speaker and sounds board was in the dummy A unit. It had a perfect spot to mount the speaker. That was where the battery would go in the powered unit. First step was to remove the plug from the unit: A 7/8th deep socket with the chassis mounted on some wood and a few sharp blows knocked the plug out. To mount the speaker I used a 4-40 screw and tapped the old screw boss, which originally held the battery cover. I then installed the speaker with the 4-40 screw, it held it firmly. Next step was the electronics: Tapping into the power supply for the light I hooked the positive side there and added an eyelet to the negative and used a self tapping screw in one of the convenient holes that are in the chassis. I installed the board on the double sided foam tape provided. One note on the instructions they show the wrong plug as the AC input: It should be the 2 pin connector not the 4. As seen here: This is what it looks like when all done: I installed the wires for the 9V battery but did not plug it into the board. Process took about an hour or so. Works nice, now has a realistic sounding horn plus a bell and the engine sound speeds up as you increase voltage and vice versa.
