Lone Ranger and railroading, awesome!

I know I'm probably late to the party but I just received this link and thought you might enjoy it, I sure did.  We went to the most current Lone Ranger movie months ago when it first came out and really enjoyed it, many did not but it was simply FUN in our opinion.

This link provides real insight in to how track was laid and locomotives built, I'm now ready to go rent the movie and watch it again.  Enjoy.

A railroad built from the ground up, including rolling stock,

for the movie The Lone Ranger.

The train set was built in NM

This is worth watching!

jonadel - Saw that video, as well as some companion links.  I skipped on the theater release, but definitely want to see it on demand.

Still, wished LIONEL had left the masks off of the equipment. Sigh

Great video.  Not the best western I've ever seen, but it was an OK movie.  The train scenes, however, were over the top terrific!

Basically The Lone Ranger film was tv's "Hell on Wheels" starring the Lone Ranger and Tonto (or should that be reversed here?)  Greedy Rail Baron rag tag workers toned down adult "activities"

However you have to watch THE WHOLE film from start to finish to truely appreciate it   but IT is worth a look

Just not The Magnificent  Seven Shane etc

Still gotta get The Lionel set   got the LEGO

After seeing some of the footage I know understand my brother's disapointment when we first rode the 20,000 Leagues Ride at Disney World                           (it's fake)

It too is gone           last I heard its a play ground

after see the short flick on how it was made, the next day I went out and bought the movie. I thought it was outstanding. Need to watch it 2 or 3 times, to catch all of it.

Spankybird that's awesome!

We watched the movie this morning and absolutely loved it more than the first time in the theatre.  We have a 7.1 sound system with a powered sub woofer and trust me, that train was right outside the windows!!!  It's a very good thing we have no neighbors for 200 hundred yards as the windows were open as we laughed and cheered for over two hours.  Whether you love or hate the movie, it doesn't matter, it's just pure fun, much like our hobby Thumbs UpThumbs Up

And trust me, I will watch the beginning and the end of the film again ..... it's not due until Thursday Yes
