David

Nice!

Some day I would like to put a small Naval Air Station w/ blimp on the O-gauge layout.

Have to find one of those to go w/ the Marx stuff.

Thanks for sharing

Love the windup Tinplate! Where did you find your airship?

I have the same one and it's a hoot.

Nothing is more fairly distributed than common sense: no one thinks he needs more of it than he already has.

That wind-up airship is just too cool for words!  I gotta get one myself!

What can you tell us about it?  Is it a repro, an original, any idea when it was first built?

Looks to me like vintage 1930's.

I purchased mine from eBay for $11. There is no brand name on the box and came wrapped in a Chinese newspaper from Dec. 2013. I assume that it is a reproduction of a vintage toy. The construction is poor, with very thin tin(nicely lithographed) and mine stopped working after I wound it up too much. I disassembled it, worked on the spring, greased all moving parts and it has been working fine ever since. The propeller came flat, so you will need to bend the blades.
