Sunday Photo Fun - March 30, 2014
Posted by stebbycentral on Sunday, March 30, 2014 8:42 AM

I went to a local swap meet yesterday in Davenport, IA. One dealer had a box out on the table marked "Make me an offer".  Among the bits and pieces was a New Haven - style American Flyer caboose.  It had trucks with no wheel sets, one missing coupler, and a giant chunk out of one end of the roof.  But as I turned it over I saw that it also had a complete lighting unit, which my New Haven caboose did not.  So I paid him a dollar for it.  Came home, replaced the trucks, swapped out the shells,... ta da!  Best dollar I spent all day.

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Stebby - that is awesome. Gotta respect the guys that don't junk everything and that leads to someone else being able to make something they have better! Excellent find and enhancement. Hopefully the bulb won't get too hot and warp your shell!

Got down into the train room this morning. Was able to make serious progress on the rock faces.

88 - I looked and I looked and I didn't see one face.  Is this one of those things where you gotta stand in front of it and let your eyes focus...? Dunce

Actually, this is a little Saturday Photo Fun... I took a few pictures yesterday.  Here is some of the clockwork motive power gathered at the engine terminal... mostly cast iron, but a few tinplate and one lonely die-cast loco for good measure:

My first attempt at some scenery. Much more to do but I finally started.

Suggestion; Try placing some scale figures in the scene, like maybe a man in overalls standing in that open doorway of the building on the viewer's right. Woodland Scenics has some really nice sets of people doing all sorts of things.
