Here's a couple of train show purchases I've made over the years:
On the left, a stock Lionel #60, converted to overhead operation and a scale Wagner power truck by the late Burridge Jennings of Baltimore. On the right, a GMC "Buzz Bomb" car superdetailed and upgraded by Bill Ondecko of Springfield, MO.
Closeup of the ends. Note the clever way Burridge got around the lack of anticlimbers on the Lionel shell by installing scale couplers. Bill replaced the balky GMC vibrator motor with a smooth running K-Line handcar truck. Sideframes, Lifeguard fenders and trolley pole come from a Bachmann On30 streetcar. Not a perfect match, but it looks good. Incidentally, this car has such a low center of gravity that not even the most determined Junior Speed Demon at a train show can get it to tip over! :)

Hope this inspires you to do something with that trolley just sitting around gathering dust! :D
