These photos were taken over five years ago as Baby Buckeye and Mrs Buckeye set up the Polar Express at the daughters house.  The buildings are from Sam's Club and were illuminated using fiber optics.  Today the layout has two tracks; the main and a handcar track.

Hopefully next year I can add some snow and more small details. Our 3 month old Cocker Spaniel will not allow it this year. Indifferent

I decided to forgo the HOn30 this year in favor of the Flyer.  Mainly because I can't run my 4-8-4 downstairs due to clearance problems under the viaduct.  She runs like a deer and smokes like a champ!

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Working on the layout right now. There's a few more things I want to add before I call it "done". It's not very elaborate, but I still need to hook up a few last accessories.

Here's a sneak peak.

We held the anual Polar Express children's program at the KATY Depot Museum last Saturday.  My wife tells the Polar Express story and usually one or two others, Santa makes an appearance, and we have a 6' by 9' Polar Express layout running.  Here are a few shots of this year's edition - well, OK one shot.  I can't seem to make the forum and Photobucket play well together tonight.

Here's a shot of ours this year. We still haven't gotten around to placing the people and the other small odds and ends. This year (and last year) we simplified it from the twice around with a 45 crossing to an oval so I can run Marx engines on it.

Merry Christmas,

J White

Nothing complex, just a simple loop for one of my trains to run around.  Sure brings back memories of when I was much, much younger.

My Commodore Vanderbilt reproduction runs great at a very slow speed.  The tunnel and bridge are Marx covered with foil wrapping paper.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Wifey and I were the first kids on our block to get the Gingerbread Junction set.  Here is our 2013 North Pole display.

Here is the basic scenery on 3/4" plywood, with a tri-oval of O-31 track.

And here is what we finished with.  The trees were decorated with pom-poms by youngest princess,  who also spotted the rock candy willows at a local craft store.

Run, run, as fast as you can...

The gumdrop and peppermint "trees" are really holiday sprigs we picked up at Walgreens.  The bi-plane is an ornament from Michael's.

Merry Christmas to all...

I'm a little late, but I thought I would share some photos of the layout under the tree this year.  It's pretty simple, but it brought some Christmas trains into play.

Have a great and happy year in 2014.

I agree.  Really nice.

IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
