My tender has three wires with prongs but the 203 seems to only have 2 connectors. Am I missing something.
The materials that Olsen's has shows three jacks on the terminal plate. It looks like there are connections for power, coupler, and ground.

What is the tender number? It appears you have a 2201T or 2201B tender which does have three male plug wires. The correct tender for a 203 engine is either a 2203T or 2203B which has two male plug wires. The 201 engine and tender was equiped with "MAGIC ELECTROL", a Lionel control device for positiveely operating the reversing mechanism in a locomotive. There is a relay in the 2201 tender that controls the direction of of the locomotive.
I looked at the Olsen diagram for the 203. It has a 3 female prong plate part #203-26. The tender is a 2201T with three wires. If I get the correct three prong plate, will the tender work? I have seen a number of 203's sold with a 2201T tender. Was the 2201T for the 201 only?
I looked again at the Olsen site. Part #203-26 has three holes but two prongs.
