I placed two orders in January and February of 2013 via their company website. I made a mistake by telling them to " Hold order and ship when complete", That was the last I ever heard. After several months I contacted them by E-Mail and was told of their atmospheric misfortunes. I was actually willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, so again I waited. When I next contacted them I made a suggestion, let's solve both of our problems. One of your options is to send the merchandise you have on hand and Backorder the rest. What i received in response was a list of rules leaving me with the distinct impression that I was, indeed, doing something wrong. To this day I still have not received as much as one item from either of my orders. Guess they don't want my money either and my 5 year old Grandson will receive his restored train A LITTLE LATE.
Give Doug at Port Lines a call. He'll treat you right. He is the only person I trust for AF parts now.

I don't know why they have this problem of filling orders but a couple of years ago I placed an order and it took about 6 months to get my items.

As stated, this company has a reputation for long delays on fulfilling orders. I suspect that they do not actually have items they advertise in stock, but only request them from suppliers once an order is placed. The exception appears to be items that they offer for auction on eBay, those you can expect will be shipped promptly in accordance with eBay Buyer Protection policies.

RFGco is a quirky company and a difficult owner.
My experience with RFG when trying to order parts for my old American Flyer was reminiscent of the Soup Nazi episode on the Seinfeld series.

there was a similar post about a year ago from other folks. I warned them that buying from this person was a hit or miss deal. but CTT bagged my replay after 48 yrs because they didn't like my decsription of the owner. also he hasn't been to the TCA york meets for years because of the complaints made.
as of right now I have to agree, Doug pPeck is the goto guy for parts right now. since Ron Leviton is semi retired and Fred Jester has passed away. my 2nd option would be the couple that bought out JOE's train parts from North Carolina. they are very pleasent to deal with AND they have bought out all the remaining parts that S-Helper had as MTH had no interest iin them.

It seems like wherever you go or what you do there are problems you have to deal with. This hobby is no exception. One thing I really like about the internet is that you have contact with others who can pass on their experiences, good or bad, with you. This helps in determining who you should deal with to avoid problems.
Hennings in Lansdale Pa is seemingly picking up where Fred Jester left off.. Harry at Hennings and his son are providing an ever expanding parts inventory for AF pre and post war. I'm not certain but I think Hennings has partnered or is perhaps now the exclusive source for MEW castings also..
I've been in their store and there is a huge parts inventory there. Not sure if they are getting it all out on the web though.
