Help Finding Parts
Posted by ICNCU222 on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 12:10 PM

Hello,

Believe it or not, but it’s been about 5 months now since that fateful day when I took on a restoration project of a pre-war American Flyer set. I have learned a lot since that day, but I am still a long ways away in my journey. I once thought I had set #1322 which was called The Frontenac, but over time I have found out that what I really have is set  #1328 which was called The New Bluebird. I have found replacement parts for most of the brass, new wheels for the locomotive, paint, stamping for the letters and rivets.

What I am seeking now, is information on where I might be able to get ahold of a reverse unit (e-unit?) for the locomotive (#3107) as mine did not have it when I bought the set. Or maybe even an entire #3107 locomotive that I can use as parts to combine with the one I already have. I am also seeking information on where I can find a Flossmoor Station 96, and a Hoosac-12” Tunnel #263. I have already went down the e-bay road and have had no luck lately. Surely, someone must have these parts that they would be will to part with.

The end goal is to piece back together this entire train set and to restore it to “like new” condition. I think I would be a great addition to the family and would hopefully spark some interest into my young children about the importance of preserving our history as Americans. Please let me know, any help would be great.

Thank you,

Brian

I think that Jeff Kane has the E unit you need. Www.ttender.com
