An Open Letter to our Beloved O Gauge Overlord...
Posted by anjdevil2 on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 6:55 PM

Dear Bob, the O Gauge Overlord,

Please let Jeffery post his Half O gauge pictures.  They are inspiring and helpful as well as technical.  I ask you to ignore those very few that hide behind the mask of anonymity.  The majority of us who frequent the area, that you at CTT allow us to have (Ye Olde Coffee Pot or the 'Pot), request Jeffery continue to post those photos. Its crazy that a select few would censor what we, as a group love.....  MODEL TRAINS!!!  After all, this is a Model Train Forum!!!

Thank you for your consideration!!

Your Humble and Obedient Servant,

The ALMIGHTY NJ Devil 2

Those of you who agree, please post an AYE so we may be counted more effectively   Thank you!!

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.

 Good point Rich,

AYE,  AYE,

I know there are ups and downs here but most of it is from guys and gals out in the open sharing their opinions. That is what we are all about. The ones that hide behind the the dark of cover are like a cancer for not only the pot but the whole Forum. Pull the human Tick out by the head.

To all,

Not normally being one who is too politically motivated, I must concur with the rest and vote. "Aye!"  Regardless of the scale and size, Jeff's work is too inspirational not to be allowed to be displayed in whatever forum he deigns to grace us with.

Keep on training,

I voiced my opinion on The POT earlier, but I too agree with this. Jeffery's pics of his layout should be OK here as they are train related. We always claimed we didn't discriminate against the other gauges here... how about we speak with our actions this time?

Compromise.  Start his on thread with his HO photos.  For those who don't like his posting photos on the Pot, I take the blame.  On another forum, I praised his photos.  When he first came here, I did the same.  I encouraged his photo posting.

Frank, if you get tired of the bickering, I certainly do too.

Below is what I sent Jeffrey. Frankly, I don't care whether he posts HO stuff in the forum or not. I do know that when he started, I received quite a few e-mails from Pot posters protesting it. My position was to let it ride. And it still is. Oh, please note I didn't tell him to stop it, just to cut back on it.

"Hi Jeffrey,

Over a period of time I've had a number of complaints about your posting HO photos in the CTT forum. While it isn't a big deal for me, apparently this has been simmering for some time and this morning I got some more feedback on it.

Do you think you could throttle back on the number of HO items that you are posting in the CTT area? Apparently this view isn't going to go away, and it is more appropriate in the MR area, anyway."

I for one like chief's suggestion of Jeffery doing a thread of HO pics just as there was one for AM. Flyer That way us that like them can view them here. And still maybe once in a while put one into Coffee shop.

But I'm a AYE also to the original statement

I understand what Bob is saying here but I thought the Pot was a place where all are welcome and anything train related surely should be as well. However well intended, posting H O pics on a separate thread would be off topic on the CTT forum.

No special thread of HO photos in the CTT forum - it will be the Pot or the MR forum. And that is official.

Guys, I don't care whether he posts his HO photos in the Pot or not.

I have had many complaint e-mails about this over the months.

Two people who have posted to this thread have complained about it.

I received another complaint e-mail about it yesterday detailing how many people posted less to the Pot thread because of HO photos (I didn't quite get that). I simply repsonded to a forum member gripe and asked him if he would cut back (not stop) the HO postings to try and ease some of the friction.

I take it from the postings here, they are much more welcome than the complaint e-mails suggested. Again, I don't care one way or the other. And I think this will be the last word in this topic.
