Value of two toy train sets ?

I have two old toy trains sets and would like to know if they are worth anything or just throw them away.

One is a Marx Battery operated set with 4 cars and track. At least 70 years old.

 

The second one is a Bing set also with 4 cars and track. Based on the trade mark, it was manufactured prior to 1923.  The trade mark is a GB over an N inside a diamond.

Try to find the same thing on E-Bay may be your best bet.

if you don't want them list them on ebay and see where they go

with the descriptions you give and especially with no condition report, the value of these could be all over the place.  you really need to post some pictures.

GBN stands for Gebrüder Bing (Bing brothers), Nuremberg (Germany).  offhand i would say this set would have some value in any condition, but again, there were many Bing sets made.  some Bing was even imported by Hafner before they started making their own freight cars, and sold under their name.

pictures, or at least a more complete description would definitely help.

Without a set number or any model numbers or photos that show condition it's hard to tell. If you know what you have ebay is a good way to gage the current market.

You can put the sets up for sale with a high reserve to see what they fetch. That's a way to gage the value and market.

There is always a value if the set is complete and usable.  Even if  it is not all usable and pieces can be used there still would be some value.
