Was wondering if anyone had any opinions on Atlas 3 rail diesels? No particular one, just some thoughts on that brand. I promised myself only Lionel postwar but not sure if I can keep that promise. Thanks! Also if anyone has a MTH Premier 20-2154-1 BNSF SD 70 MAC diesel in the green and white color scheme and would like to sell, let me know.
I have 2 previous used one is a gp the other is a E unit and love them both. super detail. ( both have TMCC) only problem I have is with the GP if I hit crew talk requeting to depart then hit tower com the tower always says please stand by I can't get it to say your clear to go lol so I go anyway lol.
I first got impressed when bought some atlas 33,000 GL tank cars they blew me away wasn't expecting anything this big they require O-54 curves there like 17" long Don't get industrial rail by atlas there nothing. Blue and white box atlas is what you want. There scale. And there beautiful.

Almost forgot make sure its 3 rail O not 2 rail O
Currently carry seven of the Atlas O diesels on my roster, only a couple of issues after being run for awhile which were remedied by Atlas. Smooth as silk, great sound and the accuracy of detail is superb. Sadly some of the detail tends to take a beating since they get schlepped to the museum so often.

Got seveal. Really nice. Had issue with one, fixed and returned so fast I could not believe UPS could deliver that fast. Handle wth care. Detailed and detailed. Tiny parts it is so detailed. Rugged runner though.

I have the Raritan River #1 SW900. Love it! No complaints.

I have the Great Northern switcher, I believe its an SW900, not sure. I have had a few issues with the sound system. First was a cold solder, Atlas repaired it very quickly at no cost to me. Second was a bad speaker, again repaired very quickly at no cost to me. Third issue is the locomotive shutdown does not work and hasn't for quite some time. Final issue which just happened this winter, entire sound system quit, no sounds what so ever. I have not contacted Altas about this yet, and haven't decided if I will. Sick of sending it in for repairs.
Bottom line - Engine itself runs and pulls good, but sound system is very troublesome. Atlas customer service is great, but I would have to think twice before I purchased another Atlas locomotive.

I have two of them, an SR GP-35 and a Seaboard SDP-35. Both run very well. Smooth and quiet. They both pull well too. They laugh at any train I put behind them. The SDP-35's sound system volume is sort of low for some reason. Once in a very long while, the GP-35's shutdown sequence doesn't work. Other than those two small things, they are great. I run them quite often.

I have a DWP SD40 diesel with ditchlights and a SOO SW900 switcher. Those two operate very well on properly wired Atlas O track.
I also have a Grand Trunk Western SD40 diesel that has a strange electronics issue where it moves, stops, blows the horn, and moves again, in a constant cycle. I will have to either send it to Atlas O again, or take it to Lionel's head service station in Ohio to see if it is a TMCC/Railsounds problem.
