wiring
Posted by needmoretrains on Thursday, January 24, 2013 1:11 PM

I recently purchased a Lionel Lackawanna MU car set.  All the wires on the non-powered car connecting the pc board to the chasis switches  were cut and removed by the last owner.  I disassembled the powered car in an attempt to find hints as to the possible connections but found that the pc boards were different enough that I couldn't make the correlations successfully.  I've tried contacting Lionel and train shops with no luck.  Is anyone brave eough to send a picture of the wiring of their car or direct me to a source that might provide me with a diagram?

I don't know if these are your units, but here is a Lionel pictorial diagram that may help you.

I can't imagine where you got these photos, but Lionel did'nt even have them.  I'm afraid that I'm going to need photos of the underside of the circuit board of the non-powered car to determine where the soldered wires are attached.  I am actually considering purchasing an additional set to get this information.  It's become a quest.  Meanwhile, my thanks to you for the information.  I've printed the sheets and will keep them with my present set.
