I just purchased a Lionel On-Track Pick-up truck 6-18424. It seems to derail quite often when crossing my O27 switches. I have two very old O27 switches and 3 brand new O27 switches on my layout. It de-rails on the new ones as often as the old ones. The leading train wheels seem to go sideways when coming through the switch even if it is coming straight through. It doesn't happen all the time but regularly enough to be a pain. Any ideas on how to prevent the de-railing?
have you looked at your switches carefully and sure they close tight in the area where the piece that goes back and forth. Some items can handle a mall gap while others can't. I have that same item but don't have a layout with switches at present to see if its comon with the item or not as all I have is a shelf layout up close to the ceiling. No room for switches on 1" x 8" boards, but just an idea
