Remembering Mayberry in Spanky’s Cove,

Sitting on the front porch, drinking a Cherry Coke.

Where things are black and white,

Picking on a six string,

People pass by and you call them by their first name.

Watching the clouds roll bye.

Brooks & Dunn, and Rascal Flats put on a whale of a beach party for the Marines, who just returned from Iraq, and their families. Hats off to the socalled s***kicker groups, guess my Blue Grass roots are showing. [^]

Some pictures of my new 681 before doing any work on it.

I cleaned the motor, frame, wheels, and the shells some, so it looks better already. The motor runs, although the e-unit isn't installed yet. One of the leading truck wheels was bent badly enough that it couldn't turn completely, but that is now straightened out and turns nicely.

I may post more photos later.

The LEGO Train Layout at Train Festival 2004 in Dennison, Ohio

This part of the layout depicts downtown Columbus with scale models of several of the major buildings

The famous Ohio barns as seen along the roadways.

The passenger station at Dennison, Ohio

What is intriguing about the LEGO concept is its flexibility. I wonder why someone has not sold a book on building famous railroad landmarks with LEGO.

Great Photos Everybody!

Ben,

Good luck on your project. I am sure that you will have it running "good as new" in no time. I always like it when someone takes the time to repair/restore something when it has fallen into poor condition-whether it is a toy train, a real train, an antique car, etc.

I have a truly thrashed 263E Blue Comet (it had been outside in a sand box-yech) that my son and I will someday restore. It would be cheaper to buy a repro, but it derserves to be saved. My son will always value it that way (as I do the 2332 that my father restored with me, many years ago).

Are you going to leave it stock (I know you were working on the E-Unit) or will you convert it to TMCC?
