Bill,

The White Pass switcher looks formidable with those hood mounted tanks..Are those additional air reservoir tanks? Reminds me of the Soo when it used Geeps to pull the Mountaineer back in the day...they also had those roof mounted tanks..which is why I am suspecting  that's what they are...they used to pull long strings of similar ore cars loaded with taconite, heading southbound into Chicago . A great looking out of the ordinary engine. Is that an MTH engine?

Bruce, the White Pass and Yukon switcher is from Lionel. About 3 years ago Lionel came out with the WP&Y separate sale set, switcher, reefer, tanker, flat & trailer, and caboose. Engine and caboose were separately sold, the 3 rolling stock was sold as a set. The tanks on top are similar to the PW Alaska RR switcher. my wife bought the switcher for me for Christmas last year, over the past year I picked up the 4 pieces of rolling stock.

This was going to be a drive in theater... Decided that a cider mill with stand would be better. Was hoping to finish it before cider season ends.  This shows the general placement.

Need ot finish it this week and move on to winter section :)

That is some really impressive backdrop work, I had to look several times and even now I am not so sure it is painted on. Looks like North Carolina on the Virginia border although I am prejudiced..a lot of other locales come to mind like the Ma & Pa..it just looks "right"..terrific ..I like the skew of the bridge as well. as it runs above the river.Hope to see more.....

Just to keep the theme of northwestern railroading going...

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Thanks

Its very easy to do the backdrop.   Its modeling fiber that has been flocked on 1/8 inch MDF. After drying it can be curved without cracking :)

Neat pics, everyone. WS and Jeffrey, your modelling skills are impressive!

Here's a USRA Mike pulling out of the hole, past some curiously anachronistic covered hoppers.

Is that one of the K-Line Mikes that were sold when K-Line closed up shop. I bought the K-Line Union Pacific Mike and AT&SF Berk from a company that ended up with the scale Mikes & Berks. I think the reason they ended up with them was that K-Line could not pay the invoice to get them released.
