No this is not a NASCAR thread but I have two big beast's that I run on my layout and I have 72" rad turns as my tightest turns,A Big Boy and A T1 PRR duplex ,Im running Gargraves track and have tried everything I can think of and I cant keep Tires on either one of these engines.
Any of you out there have the same problem? How did you deal with it?

I use to use rubber cement. Been a long time since I had a problem. May be new things are around now. We'll see what answers you get.

A few people swear by pliobond. You might want to experiment on a "junker" locomotive. They remove the traction tire & just smear it around the wheel nice & smooth.

I just run my Big Boy without tires. It is heavy enough not to matter; and I have had no trouble from the empty tire grooves, although I was apprehensive about that at first and even made a stab at trying to get ungrooved wheels for it.

Try new tires or use rubber cement.

I was thumbing thru the Nov. 03 issue and came across the article about using traction tires on older traction impaired loco's. I was wondering if this trick would work with magne-traction locos so they could be run on nickle-silver track. For anyone who might not have seen it they use "super glue" to hold the tires in place. Anybody tried it ? [?]
