You are a young man of many talents, Chris. What type of work are you planning on doing when you are thru with school [?]

It look great, I wish I could do something like that.

Chris,

Very skillful,

If you go in the Navy, you may want to do work w/your hands; a trade perhaps like welding or machinist. I was a Marine for 20 years but visited the Navy's A school at Great Lakes where I saw the young sailors working on hull repair and other metallurgical stuff. Also, a nice electronics school there. A lot to choose from & they pay some of your college as well. The military was good to me, as I got free education from my Vietnam-era VA.

Great looking work Chris. If you haven't already made plans for finishing it you might try two different shades of stain so as to bring out the raised portion.

Great work, Chris! You certainly have a lot of talent.
I'm proud of your choice to serve in the Navy - You'll be serving your country as you grow as a person and learn some valuable skills that will help you throughout your life. Good luck in all of your future endeavours!

Chris, Your carving looks great. Unless someone has done some of this they dont have any idea how much work goes into it. I built this Sengebenk out of solid oak. I did the initial carving(relief) witha router. My wife finished it up with hanhcarving tools from her grandfather, dremel and a Ryobi electric carver she bought. It is finished with 3 coats Danish Oil. Over the years I have built almost all of our furniture. I have plans for a large (72") roll top desk that I want to build this winter............Tim
