I seem to recall that a while back, someone mentioned a smoke fluid that smelled like original Lionel smoke pellets. But I didn't write it down, and now I can't remember who the manufacturer was. Could someone please remind me? Thanks in advance.
Maybe you can find it HERE.

Thanks, Jeff. But unfortunately, that site says only that the proprietor doesn't really know how to duplicate the pill scent, but instead he gives you a recipe for making your own -- with no guarantee that it will actually be the same at all.

Yeah, they decided NOT to produce the 'smoke pill' scented fluid as it only smells 'right' to 50% of the people who tried it. But it's very simple to make your own.
From "JT's Mega Steam Smoke Fluid" site:
Ready...mix 2/3 Wood Stove and 1/3 Bayberry. That's it. If you want to try it for yourselves, go ahead. This way if you like it...fine, if not...you didn't spend any extra $$$ on a bottle of "Smoke Pill" fluid you didn't like. You don't even have to mix a whole bottle of it, just mix it by estimating the mix ratio when refilling your smoke unit...
I bought the smoke pill scent fron JT earlier this year and for my "nose" it smells like 1954 in the train room.
