I'm trying to figure exactly what this implies, I see no difference in site access.

MY assumption is it means you get access to those areas ordinarily restricted to subscribers only.

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Well, I went to a "subscriber only" section and was greeted with a password prompt, so that seems not to be the case.

You can go to the pages for other magazines.  For example, I just went to the Trains news page and read about the recent Oakland Amtrak collision.
