I have had the Vision Line Hudson since late summer. It's performance, while good was somewhat inconcsistent. I tried several things which didn't seem to help, so I got an RA # from Lionel, sent it back, and withinh 2 weeks had the locomotive back with a note saying it worked as it was supposed to!!! Excellent and prompt service by the way.
In the meantime, I had moved some other engines to that loop and experienced the same problems. Note that the Century Club Empire State Hudson did not exhibit those quirks while on that loop. Putting two and two together and getting six instead of eight I got the brilliant idea that the problem might be the track! Did you know that dirty track will impact the Legacy signals? I didn't until now.
By the way, 5344 is one sweet machine, worth what I paid for it, and I don't even mind the missing lift chain for the front coupler!
Mel Hazen; Jax, FL Ride Amtrak. It's the only way to fly!!!
The dirty track was probably causing some electrical issues and not necessarily Legacy communication issues.

missing so the scale coupler could be swapped out for the regular coupler for double heading.
