I see by Bob Keller's image of Lionel's new 700E Hudson that it was delivered to him also without the link pin and chain that attach to the lever which holds up the front scale coupler...I looked very carefully in the box, thinking it would be an add on item but it was not included. Now as many cool features that the model has, you would think Lionel could have included this little detail. Especially for $1600 smackers!!...By the way, the image of the 700E depicted in Lionel 2010, vol 1 catalog absolutely does include this detail...Please don't think I am a rivet counter...I have numerous other Lionel scale steamers that do include this feature, and for far less retail!!
I thought the Hudson's list price was way over the top for that particular steamer. It just seems that compared to the more detailed and larger steamers such as the Big Boys, Challengers, and Yellowstones the Hudson was overpriced.

OK not a rivet counter, so the reason for your thread is?
I agree it probably should have come with that item, so e-mail Lionel and ask.

I would surmise that since the Vision 700-E was suppose to be an exact reproduction of the original 700-E except with the modern Legacy electronics and bells & whistles the omission of a very visible piece of detail was disappointing.
I certainly would let Lionel know of my concern, especially since it is very noticable in the catalog.
