Lionel Napa Valley Wine Train Set
Posted by Simbo69 on Friday, July 1, 2011 10:30 AM

In a 2010 catalog, Lionel had a Napa Valley Wine Train set.  I am wondering if Lionel produced them and if anyone on the Forum is familiar with this set?  THANKS!

That was in the K-Line by Lionel catalog and I don't think it was ever made since Lionel dropped the line.

I have one of the original K-Line Napa Valley sets and it is OK, the old TMCC Lionel Napa Valley set from early 2000s is the one I would LOVE to have, but I'm not shelling out $2,000 for a set (what they have been going for lately).

It was a K-Line by Lionel product which appeared in the 2010 catalog.  I believe it was made since I found one for sale at Grzyboski's Trains for $515.00.  I believe I have seen it for sale at other online stores as well.  I think it is a very sharp looking set but it's not high on my "to buy" list.

They have the K-Line Locos and cars being sold on Ebay right now http://cgi.ebay.com/ALCO-UNIT-POWERED-NAPA-VALLEY-TRAIN-SET-LOT-1-7-/320720033467?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item4aac6756bb.  The cars are buy now and so is the A Loco without power but you will have to bid on the A unit with Power

Can't stop working on the railroad!

Thanks to everyone who replied. The postings on eBay were for some low-end starter or expansion set but not the K-Line set I was looking for.  My friend is a big wine guy and he and his wife lived in Napa with the Wine Train passing their place.  He ordered the set from Grzyboski Trains and is thrilled to be getting it.  It's his first O Gauge.  I told him the bug will be biting so he should just start thinking big right now.

Thanks again.
